Rep. JB Commissions Classroom Blocks In Imota, Igbogbo, Reaffirms Commitment To Quality Education

In further demonstration of his sustained commitment to educational development and grassroots transformation across Ikorodu Federal Constituency, Babajimi Benson on May 7, 2026, officially commissioned blocks of classrooms at two public primary schools in Imota LCDA and Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA.

The blocks of classrooms – Methodist Primary School, Imota and Salvation Army Primary School, Agunfoye, Igbogbo, were facilitated by the federal lawmaker.

The newly commissioned classroom blocks in both schools were fully equipped with staff rooms, electrical fittings, ceiling fans, modern furniture, and smart boards in line with global educational standards, thereby providing pupils and teachers with a modern and conducive environment for effective teaching and learning.

Also commissioned, was the eight units of modern convenience within the Salvation Army Primary School premises, constricted by the Omo’ba Hameed Aroyewun’s administration to further improve sanitary conditions and overall learning standards.

The commissioning exercise, which drew community leaders, education stakeholders, political figures, traditional leaders, parents, and residents, underscored the lawmaker’s continued investment in providing a conducive and globally competitive learning environment for pupils across the constituency.

Rep. Jimi Benson was represented at the two commissioning by the Executive Secretary, Local Government Education Authority (LGEA), Ikorodu Local Government, Alhaji Taiwo Odumbo.

Speaking at the commissioning in Imota LCDA, the host Chairman, Hon. Sunday Benson Ayodele, described Rep. Babajimi Benson as a transformative leader whose interventions have continued to redefine the developmental landscape of Imota LCDA positively.

The Chairman highlighted several impactful projects facilitated by the federal lawmaker across various sectors, including infrastructural development, educational advancement, and human capital empowerment, stressing that the people of Imota have remained direct beneficiaries of purposeful representation.

According to him, Rep. Benson’s numerous educational interventions have improved significantly the learning environment within the LCDA and contributed immensely to the academic growth of pupils in public schools.

Hon. Sunday Benson Ayodele further noted that the federal lawmaker remains one of the strongest grassroots champions of the Renewed Hope Agenda of Bola Ahmed Tinubu, adding that the positive impact of the administration’s policies and interventions continues to resonate within the daily lives of residents across Imota LCDA.

He also commended President Tinubu for his commitment to people-centred governance and infrastructural renewal across the country.

The colourful event witnessed the presence of notable personalities including Rev’d (Col) Dr. Titilola Onafowakan (Rtd) ; the Head Teacher of Methodist Primary School; Chief Kazeem Oyebanjo, the Baale of the host community; representatives of the Parents Teachers Forum; and leadership of various Community Development Associations within the area.

In an emotional moment during the ceremony, Chief Kazeem Oyebanjo passionately appreciated Rep. Benson for remembering the community through the educational intervention and offered heartfelt prayers for the lawmaker’s continued success and protection.

Also speaking at the event, Col. Dr. Titilola Onafowakan (Rtd) delivered a specially prepared tribute in honour of Rep. Benson, celebrating his impactful service to the people of Ikorodu Federal Constituency and calling for the continuity of his representation in view of what he described as his outstanding commitment to community development and educational advancement.

The commissioning train thereafter moved to Salvation Army Primary School, Agufoye, in Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA, where another modern six-classroom block facilitated by the lawmaker was officially unveiled amidst massive attendance by residents and stakeholders.

At the Agunfoye commissioning in Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA, the Executive Chairman, Omo’ba Hammed Olalekan Aroyewun, was represented by the Secretary to the Local Government, Alhaji Qudus Oduntan.

Other dignitaries present at the event included the Leader of the Council, Hon. Basirat Banjoko; the Council Manager; the APC Chairman for Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA, Hon. Taiwo Ọrẹnuga; the Baale of Gẹgẹ Community, Chief Jamiu; the Head Teacher of the school, Mr. Bamidele Ẹsan; representatives of Community Development Associations; members of the Parents Teachers Forum; and other critical stakeholders within the community.

Speaking on behalf of the council chairman, Alhaji Qudus Oduntan expressed profound appreciation to Rep. Babajimi Benson for his consistent interventions in Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA, especially within the education sector.

He stated that the numerous developmental projects facilitated to the council area in recent years remain clear evidence of quality representation and urged residents to reciprocate the gesture through massive support for the APC in the forthcoming general elections as appreciation to both Rep. Benson and President Tinubu.

In his remarks, Alhaji Taiwo Odumbo emphasised that Rep. Benson remains deeply passionate about delivering exceptional and enduring service to the people of Ikorodu Division.

The Education Secretary used the opportunity to reel out several educational projects facilitated by the lawmaker through the LGEA within the past ten months of his assumption of office.

According to him, the projects include six-block classroom projects at Olu-Odo Community Primary School, Ibeshe, Igbogbo; Ilado Community Primary School, Baiyeku, Igbogbo; seven-block classroom projects at Isawo Comprehensive Junior Grammar School, Isawo, Agric, Ikorodu; St. Saviour Anglican Primary School, Igbaga, Ikorodu; Salvation Army Primary School, Agunfoye, Igbogbo; Methodist Primary School, Imota; as well as ongoing prototype classroom projects at Model Nursery and Primary School, Sagamu Road, Ikorodu; Yewa Junior Grammar School, Aga, Ikorodu; and Abule-Eko Community Junior Grammar School, Ijede.

It was also noted during the event that the Executive Chairman of Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA, Omo’ba Hammed Olalekan Aroyewun, complemented Rep. Benson’s intervention by construction of eight units of modern convenience within the Salvation Army Primary School premises to further improve sanitary conditions and overall learning standards. The facility was equally commissioned during the ceremony.
